UMMD Treats Lubambo Musonda
August 21, 2026 - FCM pro Lubambo Musonda underwent successful surgery at Magdeburg University Hospital following his Achilles tendon rupture. As he works his way back onto the field, he will now be under the care of the sports traumatology department. This continues the partnership with 1. FC Magdeburg, which has been in place for eleven seasons.

August 20, 2026 – More and more people are affected by eating disorders such as anorexia. A recent RTL report sheds light on the condition and follows two patients on their journey. Prof. Dr. med. Florian Junne from Magdeburg University Hospital speaks as an expert and explains which factors contribute to the development of eating disorders and what role social media and the increasing pressure of beauty ideals play.
New Leadership, Proven Expertise
August 19, 2026 - At Cracau Hospital, outpatient and inpatient care are being further integrated. Dr. Ilka Günther will focus on her work at the Medical Care Center (MVZ) going forward and will thus remain closely associated with the hospital. Prof. Dr. Ulrike von Arnim and her experienced medical leadership team will take over the department of Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine.
“Green Sock” Campaign
August 17, 2026 - As part of the “Green Sock” campaign organized by the association “Gynäkologische Krebserkrankungen Deutschland e. V.,” the Schönhausen & Surrounding Area chapter of LandFrauen knitted numerous pairs of socks for patients at the University Women’s Hospital in Magdeburg.
