The focus will be on surgeomics, AI-supported systems, personalized therapies, and modern imaging. In addition to lectures, the event will offer an intensive exchange on the surgery of tomorrow and current insights into innovative research approaches. Abstracts may be submitted until June 15.
Magdeburg Researchers Honored for Their Work in Cutaneous Immunology
June 3, 2026 - Dr. Konstantinos Katsoulis-Dimitriou of Magdeburg University Hospital has been awarded the “GC-I3 Paper of the Year: Young Research Award” for his work on immune cell communication. His research demonstrates for the first time how mast cells influence the function of macrophages and thereby help regulate inflammatory processes in the skin.
Where do I start my clinical rotation?
June 2, 2026 - What does the clinical rotation (PJ) actually entail—and where would I like to complete it? These questions were the focus of the PJ fairs held in May at Magdeburg University Medical Center. On May 13, 2026, the teaching hospitals presented themselves, and on May 20, 2026, UMMD itself. Both events were well attended, with around 50 students at each.
